Welcome to the Frugal Beagle blog.

This is a blog that will be bursting with practical tips on saving money and living a frugal lifestyle.

I started this blog for several reasons:

  1. I think many people are interested in making money but they do not realize that they could be doing so much better changing their spending habits first. There is so much that is going to waste.
  2. I noticed that a lot of blogs on the same topic are not practical for Malaysians and Asians in general. We need a ‘local’ blog about saving money.
  3. Flour prices increasing, toll prices increasing, and petrol prices are increasing, but our salary is not increasing! We need help!
  4. I’m really interested in living a frugal lifestyle. I may not be living a perfect example right now, but let’s take the journey together.

I will be writing using the moniker Mr Beagle. I have been blogging at my personal blog since 2006. Stick around and I may reveal my identity one day (those of you who know my identity please keep it secret for now).

I am married to Mrs Beagle, and I will be asking her to contribute some posts as well. We have a baby on the way (Mrs Beagle says it’s a baby, not a puppy!), so watch this space for baby related frugal tips as well.

To set expectations right from the start, this blog will focus quite strictly on financial topics. This includes saving money, reducing wastage, reducing debt, increasing wealth, making money, financial advice, product comparisons and other general advice.

Well, I’ve got to get around to organizing the blog template and other administrative tasks. There’s so much to do!
