Thanks for sharing this info. Yes, it’s true that you could save a lil’ rm a day on drinks. In one of the Korean eating outlet in Kuching, they will provide (upon request) a huge tumbler of cold drinks and refill once it’s empty for free. The extra rm meant a lot to me…

it is a place for socializing and since i only go there 3 tuimes a week the most, the building budding relationship with colleagues with rm1.50 on teh tarik does seem reasonable…. that is if u dont order food.

any tips on how to prevent getting slice off our money at mamak stall? anyone?

Mr Beagle: I think going for socializing is fine. What I mean is not to order drinks when you have your lunch or dinner.

Since I’m in college, I just go the all-you-can-eat type of cafeteria (and I have to drink a lot from cafeterias or I’ll get thirsty).

Mr Beagle: I see. You could probably save a lot by eating more at those cafeterias.

Haha, I try to do that too, but most of the time my thirst overpowers me… but I find it easier to get away with at better restaurants because they normally give free glasses of water.

Mr Beagle: That’s a great idea! Unfortunately it’s hard to find these ‘better restaurants’. Most places will charge anywhere from 30 sen to 80 sen for a glass of water.
