Introduction

Hello and welcome to the Frugal Beagle blog!

My name is Mr Beagle, and I am so glad you came to visit the Frugal Beagle blog.

I observed that Malaysians are facing challenging economic conditions up ahead with the multiple price increases and inflation. I have also observed that most blogs on this topic are written for American readers.

What we need is a blog that is relevant to our culture and financial environment.

Objectives

I have written this blog with two objectives in mind:

1. Living within your means to increase wealth, which is a focus on how we can control our spending, build good habits and build our wealth.
2. How to survive in the Malaysian economic conditions, which focuses on how to survive and live frugally in the Malaysian context.

Information

The term ‘frugal beagle‘ is used to refer to someone who is living a frugal lifestyle. This means that we are all frugal beagles! I will also use that term to refer to the readers of this blog.

This blog will be most relevant to Malaysian readers but I’m sure that international readers will find the tips adaptable and useful. The Malaysian currency is the Ringgit (RM), and 1 US Dollar ~ RM3.30.

Personal Info

I am a professional living and working in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. I am married to Mrs Beagle and our first child was born in May 2008. I have been blogging since 2006 and the Frugal Beagle is one of my blog projects.

I have mentioned in my introductory post that I’m not a financial expert, but I expect this to be a learning and sharing journey for all of us.
